1. Number of publications and Timing
  • In principle, we publish twice a year, on March 30 and September 30.


2. Regulations of Editorial Committee
  • A. Editorial Committee consist of around twenty editorial members, including one editorial chairperson.
  • B. Editorial Chairperson is a person who meets one or more the following qualifications and is commissioned by the direct of Convergence Education Research Institute.
    • 1) They must have doctorate and more than 5 years of working experience at a four–year–course-university.
    • 2) Within the last 10 years, they must have published at least 10 articles (counted to 1 article if you are a co-author) or books in journals listed (including candidates for listing) by the Korea Research Foundation or international journals (SCIE, SSCI, A&HCI, Scopus, etc.).
  • C. The term of editorial chairperson is two years, but they can serve consecutive terms.
  • D. The Editor-in-Chief represents the Editorial Board, presides over the meetings of the Editorial Board, and in the event of an accident, the Editorial Board member designated by the Editor-in-Chief shall assume the duties of the Editorial Board.
  • E. The editorial board members shall be appointed by the director of the Convergence Education Research Institute as persons who meet one or more of the following qualifications.
    • 1) He/she must have a doctoral degree and have worked at a university or a research institute for more than three years.
    • 2) He/she must have a track record of publishing five or more articles (converted to one article even if there are co-authors) or books in journals listed (including candidates for listing) by the Korea Research Foundation or international journals (SCIE, SSCI, A&HCI, Scopus, etc.).
  • F. The term of editorial member is one year, but the board members can serve consecutive terms.
  • G. The chairperson of the editorial board may remove or dismiss the editorial board member even before the term of office if the editorial board member has any of the following reasons.
    • 1) If the editorial board member notifies his/her intention to resign
    • 2) If the editorial board member becomes unable to fulfill his/her duties due to physical or mental disability.
    • 3) In case of misconduct related to his/her duties
    • 4) If it is deemed that the member is unable to fulfill the duties of the Editorial Board for other unavoidable reasons.
  • H. Editorial Committee can have a managing editor, senior researcher of Convergence Education Research Institute also serves as a managing editor.
  • I. Editorial Committee deliberates following business about the numbers of publications and the date of issue of Convergence Education Review, reception of manuscripts, examination of papers, and edit, etc.
  • J. The meetings of the Editorial Board shall be held as follows:
    • 1) The Editorial Board shall be divided into regular and extraordinary meetings. Regular meetings are held twice a year, once every six months, and extraordinary meetings are convened by the editorial board chairperson when the editorial board chairperson deems it necessary or at the request of five or more editorial board members.
    • 2) Editorial board members who do not attend the regular meeting may express their opinions (agreement, disagreement) by proxy or online (email and wire).
    • 3) The quorum of the meeting shall be a majority of the members of the editorial board present (including delegates), and the decision shall be made by a majority of the members present.
    • 4) If an editorial board member is unable to attend the meeting, he/she shall delegate his/her voting rights to the editor-in-chief through online or wired communication.
    • 5) The editor-in-chief shall keep the results of the editorial board as minutes of the meeting.


3. Reception of manuscripts and Examination of papers
  • A. Manuscripts are receipted on time. In principle, 40 days before the date of publication of each issue, manuscripts which are published in academic journal of each issue examine received manuscripts and post. and can manage the term as Editorial committee judgement.
  • B. After Editorial person in charge examines suitability with academic journal of received manuscript, select and appoint specialist who is related to the content (who has PH.D in the field which is related to the content or who has research experiences related to the content more than 5 years ) as judgement
  • C. Three reviewers are assigned to every manuscript, and they examine manuscripts based on the following ways
    • 1) Each reviewer synthetically and concretely examines received manuscript based on the following standard.
      • Research question, clarity of issue
      • Creativity of research content
      • Related literature and correctness and faith of material analysis
      • Validity of research ways and relevance of logic development
      • Academic development contribution of convergence education
      • Application possibility of education environment
    • 2) Editorial committee lastly decides the possibility of inserting paper based on collecting commentary of 3 reviewers. Editorial chairperson can request modification of papers based on commentary of reviewers. When the requestion of modification doesn’t meet, he/she can disapprove insertion of paper.

    • 3) Reviewers review modifications, examines ‘accept’ or ‘reject’, and submit to Editorial committee in the second examination.
    • 4) Contributors is informed of examination outcomes within 7 days of completing examination.
    • 5) Editorial chairperson can request modification of papers based on commentary of examiners.
    • 6) The Editor-in-Chief may reject the manuscript if the revision is not fully performed. The editor-in-chief and reviewers shall check the revised manuscript and notify the author of the final review results.
    • 7) A manuscript that has been submitted to Convergence Education Review and has been judged as ‘rejected’ based on the decision may be resubmitted.
  • D. Appealing the final review results
    • 1) If the submitter of an article disagrees with the decision on whether to publish the article, he/she may request the Editor-in-Chief to review the article.
    • 2) The Editor-in-Chief shall appoint a reviewer other than the previous reviewer to conduct a single review in accordance with the above review procedure, and the result of the review shall not be disputed. However, in this case, the appellant must pay the paper review fee separately.
  • E. [an attached paper] Copyright Transfer Agreement
    • 1) Copyright of the paper which is inserted in this academic journal is in “Convergence Education Research Institute of Korea National University of Education.” Author(s) of paper which is(are) approved for insertion should write copyright transfer agreement of this research and submit this attached paper.
    • 2) Articles in this journal may be used with attribution and may be modified, but may not be used for commercial purposes and secondary works must be licensed under the same license as the original work. (CC BY-NC-SA: Creative Commons Attribution Non-commercial Share-Alike license.)
  • F. When submitting a manuscript for publication, you must submit an article in Hangul Word Processor (hwp) or MS Word Processor (doc), a research ethics agreement, and a KCI paper similarity check confirmation form, along with a copy of the transfer of Copyright Transfer Agreement. If the rate of the KCI paper similarity check is more than 15%, the paper will be rejected.
  • G. Author(s) of an accepted manuscript may be paid for the manuscript.
  • H. Author(s) may be charged for the publication fee and review fee for the manuscript that is accepted for publication. However, payment of review fees and publication fees may be exempted prior to being indexed at KCI.


Supplementary provision



These regulations become effective from the day of announcement.
