Operating Regulations of the Institute for Convergence Education at Korea Teachers University

The purpose of this regulation is to establish matters related to the organization and operation of the Institute for Convergence Education (hereinafter referred to as the "Institute") in accordance with Article 12 of the Regulations for the Establishment and Operation of the Institute of Korea Teachers University.
The Institute is established for the purpose of presenting a new paradigm of teacher education and fostering pre-service teachers with practical competence in order to foster convergent human resources required by the future society, and for this purpose, it aims to revitalize convergence education and strengthen research capabilities in the humanities and social fields.
The Institute shall carry out the following business.
- 1. Academic research in all fields, including the development of convergence education theories that can foster creativity, development of educational programs, and related teacher education.
- 2. holding academic research conferences and research presentations
- 3. Attracting various research projects
- 4. Other projects related to the institute
- 1. The Institute shall have a director, who shall be appointed by the President upon the recommendation of the Director of the Institute for Educational Research from among full-time faculty members.
- 2. The director represents the institute, receives orders from the president, controls the work of the institute, and directs and supervises the staff.
- 3. If the director receives an external research grant, he/she shall guarantee the tenure of the director until the completion of the research if necessary.
- 4. The Institute may have an academic event and public relations department, a curriculum development department, and a research and publication department for the purposes of Article 3.
- 5. The head of each research department shall be appointed by the director from among full-time faculty members.
- 1. The Institute may have faculty researchers, full-time research professors, special researchers, full-time researchers, assistant researchers, commissioned researchers, and academic research professors.
- 2. Faculty researchers are appointed by the director from among faculty members who are assistant professors or above.
- 3. Full-time research professors hold doctoral degrees and are appointed by the president on the recommendation of the director from among internal and external personnel.
- 4. Special researchers are appointed by the President upon the recommendation of the Director from among off-campus personnel with the qualifications of assistant professor or above.
- 5. Full-time researchers shall be appointed by the President upon the recommendation of the Director from among internal and external personnel who hold a master's degree or higher.
- 6. Assistant researchers are appointed by the director from among those who hold a bachelor's degree or higher.
- 7. Contract researchers are appointed by the President upon the recommendation of the Director from among those working in external research institutes or industrial companies.
- 8. Academic research professors shall be appointed by the President upon the recommendation of the Director as those who have been determined to be supported by an external research organization so that they can devote themselves exclusively to academic research.
- 1. A steering committee (hereinafter referred to as the "Committee") may be established to deliberate on important matters concerning the operation of the Institute.
- 2. The committee shall consist of not less than 5 and not more than 10 members, including the chairperson, but the chairperson shall be the director.
- 3. The members of the Committee shall be appointed by the Director and shall serve for a term of two years, but may be reappointed.
- 4. The committee shall deliberate on the following matters.
① Matters related to the basic organization, operation system, and long-term development plan of the Institute
② Matters related to the establishment, revision, and abolition of the Institute's operating bylaws
③ Matters related to the fundraising and operation of the Institute
④ Matters related to budget and settlement
⑤ Development, selection, and evaluation of research projects
⑥ Other important matters related to research and operations. - 5. The meetings of the committee shall be opened with the attendance of a majority of the members present and shall be deliberated and resolved by a majority of the members present.
The finances of the Institute shall be covered by various research grants and other income.
Necessary details regarding the implementation of this regulation may be determined after deliberation by the committee.
- 1. This regulation shall take effect from the date of promulgation.
- 2. This amendment shall take effect on October 1, 2019.
