Introduction
- Since its opening in 2015, the Institute for Convergence Education at Hankuk University of Education has held the Convergence Education Festival every year to present a new direction for fostering human resources needed in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and to share the achievements of pre-service teacher education in particular. In 2021, the sixth edition of the festival was held with 90 students from four liberal arts courses for pre-service teachers enrolled at Hankuk University of Education. The festival explored practical ways in which education should move forward to foster future convergence talent and ideas for implementing convergence education in the classroom. We would like to share with you what kind of concerns pre-service teachers are having in order to cope with the rapidly changing future represented by the 4th Industrial Revolution, and what concrete measures can be taken to foster convergent thinking in the classroom. We hope that you will take a look at how meaningful lessons can be made possible in the classroom, where students can practically apply what they have learned to the context of their lives, rather than just acquiring fragmented knowledge.
