Build a networkDecember 24, 2024: Korea National University of Education and Jeungpyeong-gun hold a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Ceremony for the development of the Jeungpyeong Edutech Valley and the cultivation of future talents
- Korea National University of Education (President Cha Woo-kyu) and Jeungpyeong-gun (Mayor Lee Jae-young) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the development of the Jeungpyeong Edutech Valley and the cultivation of future talents. Under the agreement, the two institutions will collaborate in the following areas: strengthening industry-academia-government cooperation for the discovery, training, and employment of specialized smart education professionals; developing region-specific educational content and building an edutech care system; identifying and fostering edutech startups and supporting entrepreneurship; attracting leading edutech companies to create the "Jeungpyeong Edutech Valley"; and developing experiential learning programs utilizing ecological resources as well as advancing the eco-tourism industry. In particular, the "Jeungpyeong Edutech Valley" aims to become an educational innovation hub for industry-academia collaboration and research and development (R&BD) by leveraging Korea National University of Education's outstanding education and research capabilities. The initiative seeks to attract promising edutech companies to the region and create an environment where related talents can settle, thus transforming Jeungpyeong into a center for specialized education and innovation.

November 21, 2024: Strengthening collaboration with the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries to foster future marine talent
- Korea National University of Education (KNUE) is strengthening its collaboration with the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries to foster future marine talent. The two institutions plan to cooperate in various areas, including the development and operation of teacher training programs for marine education, as well as the creation of educational content. To support these efforts, the KNUE Convergence Education Research Institute (CERI) will provide the necessary assistance. Currently, CERI is developing marine career education materials, supported by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, in collaboration with Changchaenet (CEO Choi Yoon-young). In the future, it will also support the creation of graduate courses related to next-generation marine convergence education for current teachers.
